VCE Health and Human Development 3 & 4
Unit 3

This unit develops an understanding of the concepts of health and wellbeing and health status. It also looks at comparing health status between population groups within Australia. Students will discuss the impact of factors influencing burden of disease and examine Australia’s health care system.

Unit 4

This unit takes a global perspective by understanding a range of factors that contribute to inequalities of developing countries. Students will explore the impact of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals to achieve global health. Students also investigate the work of the WHO, Australia’s aid program, non-government organisations and how they impact global health and wellbeing trends.

Unit 3

Course Outline

This unit introduces students to the biomechanical and skill acquisition principles used to analyse human movement skills and energy production from a physiological perspective.

Unit 4

Course Outline

In this unit students analyse movement skills from a physiological, psychological and sociocultural perspective, and apply relevant training principles and methods to improve performance within physical activity at an individual, club and elite level.

· What are the foundations of an effective training program?

· How is training implemented effectively to improve fitness?
