Enrolments
We know that making a decision about your secondary college is an important decision and finding the right college for your child is important. To help you begin making this decision, we recommend you have a look at the information available on this website and contact us on 5036 4900.
To ensure that you are in the Swan Hill College zone, please search via www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au, if you reside at a Victorian address, or https://schoolfinder.education.nsw.gov.au/ if you reside at a NSW address.
Grade 6 Transition
When will I receive information about the Year 7 intake?
Students currently attending a Government primary school and going into year 7, will receive an information pack from Swan Hill College, via their primary school, during term 2. This pack will include an enrolment form and other relevant documents:
- Letter to parents / guardians
- Enrolment form
- Bus application
- General information regarding the college
- Information on the 1:1 Computer Program
- Uniform requirements
Relevant documents are to be returned to your primary school as soon as possible (this includes birth certificate and any relevant legal documents).
If your student does not currently attend a Government school or is new to the Swan Hill area, please contact the College and speak to either Sarah Sutton (Assistant Principal – Junior School) or James Downing (Junior Sub School Manager) on 5036 4900 to discuss transition arrangements.
An information night for Grade 6 students and their parents/guardians is held in December, followed by an Orientation Day, where the students come to the College and fully participate in their future Year 7 classes.
How do I organise uniform?
We recommend purchasing SHC uniform from Clarks Gift Salon, Swan Hill.
Other Students Enrolments
For any students enrolling mid year or years 8-12, an appointment is to be made with the relevant Assistant Principal. Please either call or email the College to discuss your students needs and arrange an enrolment interview.
If, following the meeting your child is to be enrolled, you will receive enrolment forms and subjects selection will be discussed. Enrolment forms must be completed and returned to the general office with any other relevant documents, before the student can commence their studies at the College. It is preferable that students notify their previous school of their new enrolment and complete relevant exit paperwork with that school.
Visits to Swan Hill College
Parents / Guardians will have the opportunity to attend our Open Days held in May each year, to see the school in action.
Each primary school is working with Swan Hill College to develop a series of transition activities, including formal school visits.
